NBA Lockout Over

It took a 15-hour session pitched between the NBA and player representatives in New York that spilled over from Friday into early Saturday morning. It took nearly half a year.  The NBA season is set to kick off and have a 66 game season. Not only are the players happy, but all the fans are happy to see that the NBA season is going to happen.

Eagles Taking Yet Another Beating

The Eagles and Seahawks went into Thursday nights game in Seattle each with a 4-7 record, trying to cling to fading playoff hopes in the NFC. Once again the Eagles came up short losing 34-14.  With Desean Jackson only having only 4 rec. for 34 yards.  The Eagles also threw 4 interceptions this game.  What is going on with "The Dream Team".

Penn State Scandal

On Saturday, news broke that a grand jury had charged former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky with 40 criminal counts of molesting eight young boys between 1994 and 2009, as well as charging the athletic director Tim Curley and PSU vice president Gary Schultz with perjury. Not only has Penn State been under the spotlight for what Jerry Sandusky had done, but is also under the spotlight for losing some of their recruits.  Penn State is losing a bunch of great recruits due to this situation, they do not want to get involved with a program that has problems like Penn State does right now.

Super Bowl XLII Repeat

The Giants and the Patriots met for the first time since Super Bowl XLII.  The outcome was very similar, actually extremely similar. The game came down to another last minute run by Eli Manning and Giants.  With 19 seconds left, Eli Manning threw another touchdown almost in the same fashion as Super Bowl XLII.  It was a throw to the back left corner of the end zone where Jake Ballard stretched out for the catch. The Giants win 24-20.

Giant Loss

Running back for the Giants, Ahmad Bradshaw, has a cracked bone in his foot. Bradshaw has a total of 440 yards and 5 TD's this season so far.  Bradshaw has a history of ankle and foot ailments, and he underwent multiple surgeries early in 2010 to insert screws into both of his feet and to remove bone spurs from his right ankle. The Giants are not sure when Bradshaw will return.  A source states that coach, Tom Coughlin, will address the media on Thursday.

Any Chance For An NBA Season This Year?

With 126 days into the NBA lockout, the union and the owners decide to meet on Saturday.  It is not looking good for NBA fans.  NBA commissioner David Stern canceled the remainder of November regular-season games and said there is no chance of rearranging or extending the schedule to play a full slate of 82 games.

Is The NFL Player's Union Stalling HGH Test?

On Friday, two lawmakers who want the NFL to test players for human growth hormone (HGH) say the player's union might be stalling to avoid putting the test in place.  About two weeks ago these two men stated that after a meeting with the league and the union that there was a deal to begin collecting blood for testing.  The union didn't agree, and told the NFL to "hold off".  The player's did not think that this random HGH testing was fair. As seen in this quote, "Players have made it clear that the only priority is getting a testing procedure that is right and fair. That is what we will do."(espn.com)

I do agree with the fact that the NFL should be drug free, but it should be done in a fair way.

Rookies Must Step Up For Cowboys To Receive a Win

With Felix Jones out due to a high ankle sprain, the Cowboys thought they would be just fine with putting in Tashard Choice to take his spot.  Choice started off a lot slower than the Cowboys expected only averaging 2.7 yards on 28 carries.  The Cowboys released Choice on Saturday, now down to two rookie running backs, Demarco Murray and Phillip Tanner.  Last week against the Rams Murray showed the Cowboys he may actually be what they are looking for when he set a team record for 252 rushing yards.

Bad News for Jerome Harrison of the Eagles

The Eagles were planning to receive running back, Jerome Harrison, form the Detroit Lions, in favor of Ronnie Brown.  As Harrison went in for the physical, the doctor found something that nobody wants to have.  A tumor was found in his brain during the physical.  This physical may have saved Harrison's life.  Harrison is out for the rest of season, and is having this tumor treated.  But, Harrison will return to the NFL according to ESPN.com.

Thierry Henry and Red Bulls In Trouble

In a game that the Red Bulls needed to win, Thierry Henry received a red card in the first half of the game.  This wasn't the first red card that Thierry Henry has received.  Red cards are one of the Red Bulls biggest problems.  Due to Henry's red card, the Red Bulls had to play a man down for the whole 2nd half.  Ending in a 0-2 loss.

Phillips Doesnt Learn From First Mistake

Last Sunday's game was the second time this season that Phillips has been fined by the league for a hit.  He was fined $10,000 on the opening weekend of the season for unnecessarily striking Redskins tight end, Fred Davis.  Phillips struck Davis in the head and kneck area when going for a tackle. No penalty was called but later reveiws showed he struck his head area, the NFL was forced to fine him. Phillips must not hav learned from his mistake the first time because this past game against the Seahawks, Phillips struck again.  The NFL fined Phillips $20,000. Let's see if he can go for number 3.

Lebron James Rumors

Lebron James was seen practicing in full pads with the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary varsity football team on Tuesday.  Lebron James was named first-team all-state as a sophmore in highschool for his football team.  The next season he brought his team to the state semifinals.  Lebron was not only known for his basketball skills, but for his football skills.  People believed he could have played in the NFL. And, now with the NBA lockout looming, the rumor mill is sterring up some rumors about Lebron James going to the NFL.  In my opinion this will NEVER happen, even though Lebron may have been an all-star football player, his heart is with basketball.  Lebron will stay with the NBA for the rest of his athletic career.

Rodgers Opens Up About Brett Favre

Ever since Aaron Rodgers took Brett Favre's position of quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, people have been saying that Rodgers will never be Brett Favre and will only be "his back-up."  Aaron Rodgers has proved everyone    wrong as the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl last year with Aaron Rodgers as the leader.  Even after all of this talk about Aaron Rodgers vs. Brett Favre, Rodgers takes it as a compliment and is honored to be linked to the legendary quarterback. He says it is an honor to even be brought up in the same sentence as Favre.
